If it’s Tuesday, this must be Belgium.

Have you ever gone on one of those race-throughout-Europe trips, where you stay in as many countries as nights? Well clearly the geography of the area makes that easier to do there than in other places (I remember thinking it was so cool that my Dutch friends would sometimes go to a different country just for dinner), but you may be missing far more than you’re actually getting.

There’s something to be said for staying in places long enough to actually get to know them—as in, for a week or month as opposed to 5 or 10 cities in that time. Of course time is almost always limited, and people generally want to get their “bang for the buck” when they travel, but it may be worth it to reconsider this strategy. In an age where depth seems to be increasingly sacrificed for breadth, we’d do ourselves good delving in a little bit deeper sometimes.

In so doing, one would find out that Riot in Belgium is actually from Australia—yet another good reason to want to go there. Otherwise known as DJ Damage and DJ Belgium, these ozzies have been at it with a riotous vengeance lately. Hmm..where was that extra month again?
